Thank you! I'm actually feeling pretty good. Stiff and bruised in a few places, but overall not nearly as bad as I expected. But shell-shocked is right - I've been constantly drained and sleepy today.
I keep telling myself it could have been worse, MUCH worse, but that doesn't seem to help.
I am very much hoping the person who hit me has good insurance! But I won't know for a while who will pay. The police report won't even be available for 10 days.
Oh man, is the car worth that much? When someone rear-ended me we had to ask the body place to try and keep the reported repair total under 3k otherwise the insurance company for the other driver would just declare my car "totaled" and give me a check instead of fix it. I love my car so much I bought the same model twice and had to go to another state to get the second one! I knew the pickings would be slim again if I had to replace a car over a dented back door. :/ I hate, haaate how the system works. It shouldn't be up to the insurance company of another driver to determine whether or not they will fix my car in full or if it's worth it. It's worth it to ME and wasn't my fault, so they should pay! :/

I heard a bit more - the damage is mostly cosmetic. No apparent frame or damage. How that could cost $8900 I don't know, but I hope they don't total it. I love that car, so I know exactly what you mean.
