Yeah... the Timeturner was really a serious canon problem in that story. If such a thing exists, surely there were VASTLY MORE IMPORTANT uses for it than making sure Hermione was able to take a triple course load. Space/Time Continuum be damned.

But you won't, because you didn't. Time travel is funny that way.

Oh dear.... >_> That's a little awkward... kind of the same way I always thought the eagles were a plot issue in Lord of the Rings. I still can't quite figure out why they couldn't give Frodo a lift to Mount Doom.

(By the way, congrats on your recent royalties! I'd been meaning to comment!) :D

Seriously. I've heard that mentioned before and every time I'm like, "Wow, all that suffering really was unnecessary, wasn't it?"

Wouldn't have worked... for a number of reasons.

1. Frodo still wouldn't have chucked it in.

2. The Nazgul would have taken them out on their winged Fell Beasts.

3. The Eagle carrying Frodo and the ring would have been drawn to it's power and might have tried to take it.

No one was capable of destroying the ring on purpose.

I can buy reasons #1 and 3 well enough, but I get the impression that the eagles were more than a match for the fell beasts. :) By number if not by size.
