I finished the game just now. I was a bit startled at how easy the dreaded Vegnagun was to defeat!

I made 95% completion, which isn't too bad, especially for someone who dislikes mini-games and puzzles. (I just want to plow through the story, so I only did the ones that seemed fun to me.)

I liked the story idea (the whole Shuyin/Lenne thing), and I liked the characters. I got used to the battle scheme, finally, but never used it effectively. Essentially, I mastered out the Alchemist for Rikku and the Dark Knight for Yuna and Paine, and then I clobbered every monster with Darkness while Rikku mixed metapotions. Hey, it worked!

As for the endings, I had cheated and seen both the Good and Perfect endings on YouTube. I'm happy with the Good, which was the one thing I wanted to see when I bought the game. (It was perfect to me.) I might try for 100% now that I'm going to play it again, but I won't try too hard. The Good ending was exactly what I wanted.

I admit that I'm an old softie, OK? I got teary-eyed when Auron spoke to Yuna. I was teary-eyed when Shuyin and Lenne reunited. And I sniveled and bawled through the entire ending.

Now I'm going to play it again! Yeah!
