On a more upbeat note, I'm reading a fascinating book. It's call "Endurance", and it's the story of the explorer Ernest Shackleton's 1915 attempt to cross the Antartic continent. Their ship, the Endurance, got caught in the ice and eventually crushed before they ever got to land, and the rest of the story is an incredible tale of survival. There's a pretty good article in Wiki, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imperial_Transantarctic_Expedition, if you're interested. I'm about halfway through, and it's an incredible story. A well written book, too.
