dragonfare: (NaNo 2013)
My (most excellent) friend Pam called me to her desk the other day to show me this, saying that I was the only person here who would appreciate it:

She was right. I cracked up all over the place. (Is that CUAOTP?)

I am soooo far behind in NaNo. But I'll catch up. I'm rolling. But my time on weekends is more limited with my roomie still not up to speed (as last year's defeat showed), and my Thing of a Boss creates so much stress that creativity on workdays is sludgy.

My usual defense against drowsiness on my long drives, if my audiobook doesn't keep me awake, is a little stack of CDs in the car. I find that, as much as I like rock-and-roll, it's too repetitive to wake me up. I need something that I can sing along with (loudly and with feeling!). The best thing is a musical, and although Wicked is still my favorite, a very close second is the one I'm listening to now, The Scarlet Pimpernel. Lately, since I drive in the dark so much, I've been dependent on defying gravity and punishing good deeds and swinging the guillotine and going into the fire. I have a lot of other musicals in the car, but those two are my usual choices.

Yeah. Babbling.
