(no subject)

A shock and a tragedy today. My neighbor across the street was killed today in a car accident. Randi and I were very close to her and her husband - they've done a lot for us, and have been our good neighbors and friends for almost 20 years. She had one of those personalities that seem larger than life, but not in a loud, brassy way. She was one of those people who was determined and tough on the outside, but a marshmallow inside. I'm not sure how her husband will cope, because they were devoted to each other, and she took care of him (his health is poor).

Right now, despite my crying, my primary emotion is disbelief. How can she possibly just be... gone?
