dragonfare: (take flight)
I don't often watch online videos, because my Internet connection is so slow that they continually break to buffer, which drives me nuts. Even when I do watch, about 2 minutes is the most I can stand. However, [livejournal.com profile] starwefter pointed me to this one, which is more than 9 minutes long, and I watched every minute of it, fascinated. If any vids ever deserve to go viral, this is one of them! The city of Grand Rapids was declared by Newsweek to be a "dying" American city, and the citizens decided to take objection to it with a video lipsync of a live version of Don McLean's "American Pie" - and let me tell you, Grand Rapids ain't dying! It's so rare that a large number of people come together like this for anything but a disaster that I couldn't resist passing it along. For those who want to see, The Grand Rapids LipDub from The Friday Awesome. It is fun and uplifting!
