May. 30th, 2011 12:26 amI don't often watch online videos, because my Internet connection is so slow that they continually break to buffer, which drives me nuts. starwefter pointed me to this one, which is more than 9 minutes long, and I watched every minute of it, fascinated. If any vids ever deserve to go viral, this is one of them! The city of Grand Rapids was declared by Newsweek to be a "dying" American city, and the citizens decided to take objection to it with a video lipsync of a live version of Don McLean's "American Pie" - and let me tell you, Grand Rapids ain't dying! It's so rare that a large number of people come together like this for anything but a disaster that I couldn't resist passing it along.
