Jan. 30th, 2008 09:49 pmWe got a bit of a shock last night - when we went into the barn, we realized 1/3 of the roof was gone! We had strong winds yesterday, and they shook off the tire we keep up there for weight and peeled back the tin over two of the stalls.
By coincidence (ha - if you believe in coincidence), we had scheduled David, our hay guy, to deliver two round bales today. We asked if he could fix it, and he did. Randi suggested the local garage would be happy to give him tires, and he got 25 of them and put them up there!! And he only charged us $30. (Also "by coincidence" it didn't rain last night, but will tonight.)
We're asking him to do an estimate on repairing the barn roof properly, so he'll stop by tomorrow and do that. Then maybe we won't have leaky stalls any more!
